Welcome back, beautiful souls! I am so grateful you are here and look forward to connecting with you all. My name is Jennifer, but my friends call me Jenny. The intention of this post today is to share some about me and to hopefully initiate some conversations with you all.
Life As I Know It
I currently reside in the gorgeous state of Maine, but will always claim Michigan as my home. I have had the pleasure of living in a few different states and even Germany, for a time, as a child. I often say I have a gypsy soul and change and experiences are something I crave. I have a different life story than most, finding out I was raised by neither of my biological parents at the age of thirty-one, was definitely an eye opening experience. That, however, is a story for another time. I am currently on a huge self discovery/ self love path. Unlearning people pleasing and connecting with my whole authentic self and boy oh boy is it a wonderful and difficult process. My heart and soul are full when there are animals around, especially my own little zoo. Which is made up of my two pups, Rocko and Bella, two cats, Hades and Hestia, and the newly joined six chicken girls. I am a crafty creative, yoga teacher, Thai massage therapist, sound healer, astrology lover (Aquarius here) and weightlifter. I am chaotic, emotional and I love cheering on and rooting for my people while spreading joy to those I come in contact with. I am a lover of all shades of black, combat boots, especially Doc Martens, occasional full face of makeup and too many clothes, but will always have room for a great thrift store find.
Stepping Into My Truest Self
I have worked for my own money going on twenty plus years. Starting with babysitting, cleaning, coffee making, fast food, and a myriad of other random jobs. I spent a chunk of my professional career as a paralegal (thanks to Chelsea), which was such an amazing experience learning and growing, and I obtained my Criminal Justice degree during this time. After obtaining my bachelor’s, my intention was to go to law school, taking the LSAT two times. I decided I was not meant to be a career woman in that aspect, as I felt the call to something a little outside of the realm of the “normal” path. I decided to transition into a vet tech position, and as much as I loved the job, the environment was not healthy and became toxic to my overall life. I recently transitioned back into the restaurant field to allow myself more time during the day to focus on my passion projects, and work on starting my own businesses. Currently, my intention is to start a cat rescue, funded by my cat toy business, while also offering healing services through Thai massage, yoga, sound healing and empowering photography. I know I am crazy, but I am stepping into my insanity and believing I can make a difference while allowing myself to follow my fulfilling passions. Damn, it is terrifying and beyond exhilarating!
Where We Are Heading
Now that I have shared a small peek into Jenny, the animal loving mess who is just here looking for a beautiful, fulfilled life. I implore you to look in the mirror, tell yourself, “I love you” and mean it. Take some time to love yourself and remember at the end of the day, you are the only one you will always have. If you are still here, I am so happy I have the opportunity to share love and light with you, and look forward to getting to know you and sharing more life experiences along the way!
