Hello Friends!
Welcome to the story of how two completely different girls became the sisters they needed in this crazy world. Let’s start from the beginning, twenty-five years ago, these two young girls attended a church located in the suburbs of Detroit, MI. One girl had been attending with her family, and was enrolled in the Christian school. The other moved to the area, started attending the church with her father and stepmother, and eventually began attending the school as well. Now, their parents became unconventional friends, which led to the two young girls spending loads of time together, in and outside of church. Little did either of them imagine back then, where their friendship would take them.
Now through the years, they would spend birthdays, countless Friday night hangouts and so many church outings together. They would plan their futures and share all their dreams, and imagine all the amazing trips they would take together. Life was just so much better together. Their teen years were filled with putt putt golf dates, exploring, movies, jam sessions (Taylor Swift and Nickelback), and always shopping. Now like most stories, this one was not all sunshine and rainbows. These two young women experienced their fair share of sadness and heartbreak. Adulthood led to time apart, life experiences not shared with each other, and distance from one friend moving away. Feelings of abandonment and hurt were formed and these two women went their separate ways. Not out of a lack of love, but because life gets too hard sometimes and you cannot always be there for people when existing for yourself is a damn struggle. The two young women would make new friends, get into relationships and go about living life, but would think about each other from time to time.
After a few years, the friend who moved away came back home, and the two young women eventually reconnected on social media. Late summer the two women planned a lunch date at Cracker Barrel (gotta have that good home-cooking for a friendship reunion). They both were nervous–what if too much time has passed? What if they were just too different to be the kind of friends they were as kids? The lunch turned into hours of talking, and a shopping trip to the local Walmart (which we both know now is just because we weren’t ready for the lunch to end). Ever since that day, the two women now have become closer than they could have ever imagined. They have worked and taken classes together, cried and celebrated together, becoming not only each other’s best friends but the sisters they both needed. They say they are each other’s person, their ride or die, and to the outside world that may sound silly or cliché, but to the two women that you have just read about, they share a bond that is certainly once in a lifetime.
They are complete opposites in many things, Chelsea is organized, determined and the epitome of a classy, put together bad ass woman. While Jenny is chaotic, somewhat impulsive and more of a punk hippie chick. These two women no longer live in the same state, because Jenny cannot seem to stay put, but a piece of her heart stayed in Michigan with her best friend. This blog will focus on the good, the bad, the crazy, but most importantly the importance of friendship and of course our mutual love of shoes and fashion. We are so excited to have you along on this wild adventure.
With love,
